Our new term begins!

We’re taking the time at home to learn and practise new songs — from a traditional Yoruba song to a Coldplay hit, the Monteverdi Magnifcat to a Belsize Community Choir original composition to get us through these curious times.  We’ve even tried our hand at making a recording !  Our new term starts tomorrow, 30 April, and newcomers are welcome to join in and give us a try.april 2020 bricolage sm

BCC goes on(line)!

We’ve been experimenting with weekly online rehearsals.  The delay prevents us from singing rhythmically in unison – but we warm up, have singalongs with mics off, rehearse pieces from our current repertoire section by section, and – importantly, check in with each other, exchange news, and have a good laugh together.

Still singing…from home

We’ve suspended our rehearsals at St. Peter’s Belsize Park.  Until we meet again, we’re taking this opportunity to practise more with our audio rehearsal files, and thinking about ways to come together as a choir — from a distance.  The Sofa Singers have a great idea!

Singing in the new year

So far we’re working on a 16th century German motet, a Georgian shepherds’ song, a traditional Scottish love song, and a round of English country dances!  We’ll keep you posted on our progress…

Happy holidays — see you in 2020!
